Day 1: Arrive
Auckland
Welcome to Auckland, the ‘City of Sails’.
Day 2: Auckland, Waitomo, Rotorua
(226 miles) (lunch and dinner included)
(optional meal plans begin today) Travel to
the fascinating Waitomo Caves
where you will enjoy lunch before a guided
tour of the famous Glowworm Grotto and an
underground boat ride. Continue on via Lake
Karapiro to arrive in Rotorua.
In the evening enjoy a unique Maori
Hangi (feast) and Concert.
Day 3: Rotorua
Sightseeing
Today experience the many varied sights that
Rotorua has to offer. Visit Te
Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve. Learn
about traditional Maori crafts at Te
Puia, before traveling to Rainbow
Springs and Rainbow Farm Show.
Enjoy an afternoon at leisure
Day 4: Rotorua, Queenstown
(airfare not included) Fly to
Queenstown, the ‘adventure
capital’, where you will be transferred to
your hotel. The rest of your day is to enjoy
at leisure.
Day 5:
Milford Sound Excursion
Travel with Great Sights along the shores of
Lake Wakatipu to Te Anau, gateway
to the Fiordland National Park. From
the Homer Tunnel emerge into the Cleddau Valley.
Join your Milford Sound Red Boat Cruise
for an unforgettable experience, and explore the
wonder of this majestic fjord before returning to
Queenstown.
Day 6: Queenstown
A free day to enjoy the many activities on
offer. Staff at ‘The Station Information
Centre’ can assist with information for
things to see and do.
Day 7: Queenstown,
Christchurch
(369 miles) Today’s journey takes you
through some of New Zealand’s most dramatic
landscapes. Arrive in Christchurch early
evening.
